Phosphate Fertilizer for Flax Crops
Phosphorus is an important soil nutrient for organic flax farming. Fertox manufactures and supplies organic phosphate fertilizers with high levels of available phosphorus to help farmers increase their flax production and yield. Unlike chemically concentrated flax fertilizers, our phosphorus-based rock-fertilizer does not rely heavily on fossil fuel consumption and is free from heavy metals, impurities, and toxins. It is important to note that our phosphorus-based flax fertilizer works best in acidic soil but can be just as effective in basic soil when combined with humate and sulfur.
Methods of Applying Flax Fertilizer
Flax seeds are prone to seed burn if a phosphate fertilizer is placed in the row along with the seeds. To avoid seed damage, we recommend applying phosphorus-based fertilizer in a side-band or using a broadcast approach. Flax crops respond well to phosphate fertilizers placed below the seedbed; however, there is a risk of seed damage if the layer is not deep enough and the seed is planted too close to the fertilizer layer.
Improving Organic Fertilizer Supply for Flax Farming
Several years ago, the founders of Fertoz discovered a surprising lack of nutritional analysis and reliable supplier infrastructure in the organic fertilizer market. This discovery prompted them to amend the way phosphorus-based fertilizer is produced, sold, and marketed to organic flax farming operations. Through extensive research, we found a source of rock-phosphate with high levels of available phosphorus, yet it was also accessible by road to freight lines that feed directly into organic agriculture markets. Fertoz does not use flashy tactics to overstate its product’s value; rather, we defend our products with research, agronomic testing, and feedback from our clients.
